1st Meeting of the Reunion Committee

Sept. 30, 2009: The Reunion Committee met for the first time at Jack & Noella Maloney's house. In attendance were Noella & Jack, Gene Klco and Mary Ann Stowe. Discussion included: - We opened with a prayer for Scott and Larry (and Mary Ann's daughter who has breast cancer). • When to have party? -Saturday night, not during the summer, avoiding holidays - Chose mid-September 18th or 25th. Need to check on MSU home games • Where to have it? - Restaurant: Tony M's, Guerrazzi's, Others? - Hotel: Lexington (was Sheridan), Causeway Bay (was Holiday Inn So.), Marriott in EL (not on home game day, Radisson - Hall: St. Mary's (built new hall - nostalgic), St. Gerard's (concern as to costs: room rent, catering, hiring bar tender, may need hire security) • Music? - Do own - use 60s only music. Gene has nearly 300 songs from 1960-69 already, mostly in around 1965. Will make CDs for different parts of the evening. • Other info - Figuring about 60-80 people to attend as an estimate. - Aim to keep price under $25 per person - Invite others who went to school with us, but didn't graduate with us. - Encourage classmates to get their bios to Gene for inclusion in the website - Update address list & get as many email addresses as possible - to keep us up-to-date • Next steps: - Will gather info and probably have another meeting in a month - Goal to set a date and place for reunion  |
